164: Every Time

Every time I see the moon I will point it out

because it will never stop being beautiful.

And every time you sneeze I will bless you

because what a lovely thing to wish on another.

And every time the bread comes out right

I will think of my mother, who fed me with love.

And every time I clean the house I will

play joyful music to make light of a chore.

And every time I write what hurts I will

move a little closer to the center of me.

And every time an ambulance goes by I will

say a prayer for the person inside.

And every time you smile at me

I will know I am home.

Every time.
